Friday May 2, 2014 Holyoke:  You Have Choices Holyoke!  This was the message from the Holyoke Adolescent Sexual Health and Pregnancy Prevention Accountability Committee's task force which hosted a kick-off event to start Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month, today at Holyoke High School and Dean Technical School.  Originating from a Mayor-appointed task force, the Holyoke Adolescent Sexual Health and Pregnancy Prevention Accountability Committee (HASHPPAC) was created to address the inordinately high rates of teen births in the city.  Each year HASHPPAC holds events to raise awareness of the impact of adolescent pregnancy and to engage youth in being a part of the solution.  This year HASHPPAC worked collaboratively with the Holyoke Public Schools and the Holyoke Youth Task Force to reach more adolescents in Holyoke than in prior years.  The event this year was held during school hours in an assembly which featured Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse, Holyoke School Superintendent Dr. Sergio Paez, Guest Speaker Marv Neal, from Family Nurturing Center, and essay winners.
