Sexual & Reproductive Health Services

Holyoke Health Center, Inc. has taken steps to integrate Sexual & Reproductive Health services into routine medical care. Our goal is to support our patients whether they want to start a family or delay a pregnancy until they are ready to become a parent. Patients can visit their primary care provider to discuss these services. We also have a certified nurse midwife on staff that specializes in sexual and reproductive health and is able to see any Holyoke & Chicopee Health Center patient in need of these services, regardless of their sex assigned at birth or gender identity.

Our medical and pharmacy teams work together to support patients with their birth control options by offering contraceptive counseling during their clinical visits or appointments. Available birth control methods include: pills, hormonal shot, patch, vaginal ring, and also emergency contraception through our pharmacy. Patients can have access to emergency contraception without visiting their primary care provider. We also offer IUDs as a form of emergency contraception or ongoing birth control, as well as the implant (Nexplanon) for ongoing birth control. Depending on patient’s needs they can either see their primary care provider or speak to one of our pharmacists regarding their birth control concerns.

Holyoke Health Center, Inc offers preventative care such as  STI screenings, HPV vaccines, HIV prevention medication (PrEP and PEP) and cervical cancer screening (Pap tests) to any Holyoke & Chicopee Health Center patient.   In addition to preventative care, patients can be seen for evaluation of breast complaints, vaginal symptoms, menstrual concerns, and much more.
